Rating: 3.5/5
OPPO's F-series has quietly carved out a loyal following in India by doing something deceptively simple: making durable phones that do not look like they were designed for a construction site. The F33 Pro continues that tradition and raises the stakes considerably. It arrives with the kind of design that turns heads. a dynamic 3D depth effect on the back panel, an aerospace-grade alloy frame, military-grade drop protection, and IP69K water resistance that goes further than most flagship phones available in the market. The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 37,999 and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6360. The smartphone also houses a 50MP ultrawide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view and a massive 7000 mAh battery. We used the Oppo F33 Pro to find out where it stands on its claims. Here’s a detailed review of the Oppo F33 Pro.
Design
If there is one area where the Oppo F33 Pro makes an absolutely unassailable case for itself, it is design. In a segment where most phones play it safe with uninspired gradients and forgettable slab shapes, the F33 Pro arrives with genuine visual ambition and largely delivers on it.
The F33 Pro is one of the most exquisite-looking mid-rangers available today. The camera plateau resembles the iPhone in shape — not a complaint. OPPO has added a halo ring around it, creating a floating effect that makes it look super premium. The inside of the plateau is the same colour as the back, but OPPO has made it shiny and added sparkles for some flair. The result is a camera island that works as a design element in its own right rather than just a functional housing for sensors. The F33 Pro is crafted from a single extra-thick composite panel, a seamless one-piece back panel designed for enhanced strength and durability against bending and drops. While the coating might initially give off a plastic-like impression, the frame beneath is solid metal. We got the Misty Forest variant of the smartphone which creates a layered visual that shifts subtly with light, giving the back panel a sense of motion. It feels artistic without being loud. The frosted-glass texture paired with the contrasting glossy camera module enhances the overall look and translates to an impressive, premium in-hand feel in everyday use.
The Oppo F33 Pro follows a practical and ergonomic button layout designed for ease of use. On the right side, you’ll find the power button, which also doubles as the side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The volume rocker is positioned on the left side, allowing for easy access whether you’re adjusting sound during calls or media playback. At the bottom edge, Oppo has placed the USB-C charging port, flanked by the speaker grille and the primary microphone. The SIM tray is located on the upper left edge, keeping it accessible without interfering with daily handling. The smartphone also comes with military grade certification and IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings which makes it resistant to dust and water.
Display
Oppo F33 Pro houses a bright and vibrant display. The smartphone features a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display which comes with 1080x2372 pixel resolution. The display offers up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits peak brightness levels. Text appears super sharp, and the AMOLED panel keeps colours vivid with deep blacks. The refresh rate of 120Hz ensures that the animations appear fluid and the scrolling remains smooth. The high refresh rate also makes everyday interactions feel more polished and immersive compared to standard 60Hz panels. Another standout element of the display on the Oppo F33 Pro is its high brightness level. At 1400 nits peak brightness, the smartphone offers excellent outdoor visibility making it practical for users to use the smartphone under direct sunlight. The panel also integrates Asahi Glass DT-STAR D+ protection, which enhances durability against scratches and accidental drops while maintaining clarity. Oppo has also included multiple display modes which enable the users to switch to more natural color profiles if they prefer accuracy over saturation. HDR support further enhances dynamic range, ensuring deeper blacks and brighter highlights in supported content.
Performance
Oppo F33 Pro manages to deliver lag free performance thanks to the efficient MediaTek chipset. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6360 chipset. It comes in two variants — 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. The smartphone performed well during routine tasks such as browsing, messaging, and streaming, while also delivering respectable performance for casual gaming. The chipset is optimized for efficiency, striking a balance between speed and battery endurance, which is crucial given the phone’s positioning in the mid-range segment. Another interesting thing about the performance of the Oppo F33 Pro is its AI-driven performance management. The system on the smartphone intelligently allocates resources, prioritises active apps and at the same time it minimises background drain. The smartphone does deliver a consistent performance for real-world usage scenarios, ensuring that apps open quickly, multitasking feels fluid, and gaming remains enjoyable at moderate settings.
On the software front, the Oppo F33 Pro runs Android 16 operating system topped with the company's own layer of ColorOS 16. The latest iteration of the ColorOS offers better personalization, efficiency, and AI-driven enhancements and a custom interface. ColorOS 16 brings a new design which includes smoother animations and intuitive navigation. One of the standout aspects of the software is AI LinkBoost 3.0, which intelligently manages connectivity by optimizing Wi-Fi and mobile data usage. This ensures stronger, more stable connections during video calls, online gaming, or streaming, reducing dropouts and lag.
The ColorOS 16 also offers deep customization options, from theme adjustments and icon packs to advanced privacy controls. Features like App Lock, Private Safe, and system-wide permissions management give users more control over their data. The interface also includes productivity tools such as split-screen multitasking, smart sidebar shortcuts, and floating windows, making it easier to juggle work and entertainment. While some pre-installed apps (bloatware) remain part of the package, Oppo has improved the ability to uninstall or disable them, reducing clutter.
Camera
The Oppo F33 Pro takes a distinctive approach to mobile photography, especially with its front-facing camera setup. At the heart of its appeal is a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100° field of view, designed to capture group selfies and wide-angle shots without distortion. The camera intelligently switches to 0.6x zoom when multiple faces are detected, ensuring everyone fits comfortably into the frame. This makes the F33 Pro one of the most selfie-focused smartphones in its category. On the rear end, the smartphone features a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. OPPO has also added an Aura Light ring around the rear camera module, which acts as a ring-light of sorts for photography, providing much softer and more even illumination for night portraits compared to a traditional harsh LED flash.
The Oppo F33 Pro manages to offer decent camera experience. During daylight the smartphone managed to produce sharp and detailed images with good colour reproduction and balanced dynamic range. Portrait shots benefit from decent edge detection, though the secondary lens is more supportive than transformative. In low-light conditions, the rear camera delivers usable results, but noise levels and detail retention are average compared to competitors with larger sensor arrays.
The high-point of the Oppo F33 Pro is its 50MP front camera which comes with 100 degree field of view. You don't have to worry about playing hand gymnastics to fit multiple people in the shot, as the 100-degree field of view does the job for you. The shots are detailed enough, and colours tend to be accurate. The AI Groupfie Expert automatically widens to 0.6x the moment more than two faces enter the frame — no tap, no fumble, no missed moment. A face distortion correction algorithm simultaneously tracks up to six subjects, preserving natural proportions even at the edges of the 100° field of view. The wider field of view on the front ensures everyone fits in the frame without needing a selfie stick.
Battery
Oppo F33 Pro will leave you impressed with its battery performance. The smartphone houses a massive 7,000 mAh battery which comes with 80W fast charging support. The big battery of the smartphone makes sure that you get at least two days of battery life on a single charge. Also for moderate users the smartphone can easily stretch to more than two days on a single charge. Along with a big battery, Oppo has also integrated 80W fast charging support. A quick charge of 30 minutes can restore hours of battery life. Apart from the 7,000 mAh battery, Oppo F33 Pro also benefits from its intelligent power management which is embedded in the ColorOS 16. The smartphone comes with features like adaptive background app control and AI-driven resource allocation which helps in reducing unnecessary battery drain. Battery life is unambiguously the strongest argument for buying the F33 Pro.
